Dad cooked a big Labor Day breakfast today. Everyone in town came and ate and ate. Later we spent the time hanging out and talking, and playing with the Legos. It was a really good day! I thought about all the times my kids have played with them for hours and hours. I thought about the times I yelled and yelled for them to be put away, the times I put them away myself for months at a time. Those tiny pieces could really mess with me in a million tiny ways. But I still love the Legos. Especially when I see my kids and grand kids having so much fun with them. Timeless. This go-round the Legos have been out for days. No yelling involved. They have been staying in a neat pile, not straying from the Lego sheet. And no babies crawling around trying to eat them. That, and also the part about how almost all of my kids are grown up now gives me some good perspective on the subject. (Sorry for all the yelling guys.) Come and play Legos anytime!
