ERIC THE RED

Today Eric turns 21 and that means a lot.  He is now recognized throughout the world as an official adult.  Unless he needs to rent a car, or a jet ski ...then he would need to be about 25. I think Eric is going to be a really awesome adult. He will always have that mixture of seriousness and fun--a great combination. Something you should know is the only fight I ever had with Gandma Joyce was over the color of Eric's hair.  She was constantly asserting that Eric had some red in his hair. Not so! Never did Eric have even a tiny bit of red hair.  But I didn't fight too hard because I knew Grandma Joyce had a good heart and loved Eric.  She even shared Eric with Grandpa Dick who could always be found wherever Eric was.  The two of them had a special bond. They hung out a lot.  I think Grandpa Dick especially liked the Duplos.  Eric has such a good heart, a pure heart. When you are with him you know there is no duplicity or guile.  He's just Eric. I have never heard him say a bad word about anyone. And he will gently remind me to keep my comments positive as well.  That's awesome! Eric is thoughtful and kind.  He was kind enough to arrive 3&1/2 weeks early.  My right rib will forever be grateful. Such a sweet boy.  I remember driving through the cemetary shortly after Rachel died.  He opened the window all the way and called out "Rachel, where are you?" I was sad and he made me smile.  Thanks Eric.  You are a great son.  A great brother. And this is the year you get to marry Madolyn! That's the real thing.
