[This is a late post; I thought I put it up in February, but found it in the "Draft" section of the Blog, so here it is...]
I was able to attend the United Nations Conference on the Status of Women ("CSW") in New York City in February 2012. I had the opportunity to visit some of the seminars/forums and hear all kinds of viewpoints. It was very educational; now I see even more clearly the need to fight to preserve family values.

I got to spend a few profitable hours at the official UN Library. Was certain that at any moment someone would point at me and shout, "He doesn't belong here!" and throw me out, possibly arresting me.
But I had been ushered in by my friend, a genuine UN delegate (from Sudan, North)
At the end of a long day at the UN, I needed to get away from the madness and find some peace in the Temple. I looked on my Google map and found that the Temple is exactly 2.2 miles by foot from the UN building where I stood.
So rather than find public transit or hale a cab, I decided to walk.
So rather than find public transit or hale a cab, I decided to walk.
In the rain.
Here are some of the sights, many of which are on Broadway, the diagonal across the island:
Some random tall building enshrouded in rain clouds
Letterman Show
The Waldorf
The temple was wonderful! At first I walked right past it, too absorbed in the sights and sounds, surrounding the Kennedy Center.
Amazing how quiet they can make a building in the heart of such activity!

| This is the bag they gave me to carry buttons and whatnot on the plane. Ripped in many places, it barely survived the trip. I was just sure it would rip open and spill pro-family paraphenalia on the floor, and be lynched by offended New Yourkers. Fortunately, it survived... |
